Ritratti urbani | Teaser
Morbiducci”. [2020-21] Video 4k, Audio: musica e registrazioni ambientali |
ENG With the project URBAN PORTRAITS. Postcards from the spaces of aggregation, we propose to investigate in the territory of the Province of Macerata, from the coastal city to the mountain village, the transformation of public spaces, such as squares and the main streets of the old town centres, places which, as never before, give a face and determine the history of our towns. Is there still a dialogue between the physical environment and the human environment as light changes, or have urban spaces become merely transitory, places to stop for a very short time and not to live in on a daily basis? What role do spaces for gathering take on in the face of the COVID-19 epidemiological emergency? Architecture, by its very definition, is the art and science of shaping space through technical, expressive and historical aspects, seeking to respect the practical and poetic needs of those who live in a space. In this era, however, the role of architecture and the city has rapidly changed: political, cultural, economic and religious centres no longer reflect the reality of life and the aspirations of mankind, but have become absent mirrors, places devoid of human activity; social and urban geography seem to take on a role detached from the history of mankind, which is conveyed and limited in private, circumscribed spaces. "Architecture is an integral part of the city and of man. Architecture is the fixed scene of human events; it is charged with the feelings of generations, public events, private tragedies, new and ancient facts. The collective element and the private element, society and the individual are set against each other and mingle in the city, which is made up of many small beings seeking their own accommodation and, together with this, their own small environment more in keeping with the general environment." Aldo Rossi, L'architettura della città, Quodlibet Abitare, Macerata, 2012 The role of urban spaces loses its importance, remaining a void in the conformation of the city, of villages, of places that were in close connection with the aspirations of mankind as a whole. - A project by Maria Sole Fabrizi e Mauro Pennacchietti, under the patronage of the "M. Morbiducci" Historical Institute of the Resistance and Contemporary Age. [2020-21] Video 4K, Audio: music and ambient sound recordings |

La chiamata [The call]
ITA
